This would be a np-chart (or if you mean r-chart) based on the binomial distribution. It could also be the more general p-chart . Find the average r = Σdefectives=# of samples = 60/10 = 6 For an np (or r) chart: 6 ± 2√(6(1-0.06)) UCL = 10.75 LCL = 1.25 For a p-chart: The average proportion, phat = Σdefective/total tested = 60/1000 = 0.06 Control limits: phat ± 2√(phat(1-phat)/n) = 0.06 ± 2√(0.06(0.94)/100) UCL = 0.1075 LCL = 0.0125
